How Often Should You Clean Windows in Las Vegas? A Seasonal Guide
The national rule of thumb — clean windows twice a year — doesn't survive a Las Vegas summer. Between desert dust, monsoon spray, hard-water overspray from sprinklers, and grit blowing in off the southwest valley, Clark County windows collect more grime in one August than a milder climate collects all year. Here's the schedule we actually recommend to our long-term Real Clean Windows customers.

The Las Vegas schedule
For most Las Vegas homes, the right schedule is three touches per year: a full interior + exterior clean in spring, an exterior-only wash after monsoon season, and an interior refresh before the holidays. That cadence keeps glass looking new without paying for cleanings you don't need.
Why Las Vegas is different
Three things speed up how quickly Las Vegas glass gets dirty:
- Dust events. Wind off the open desert around Blue Diamond and the southwest valley pushes a fine, calcified silt onto exterior glass that doesn't rinse off with a garden hose.
- Monsoon spray. Storm water carries mineral-heavy runoff and dries into visible spots within minutes on a hot pane.
- Sprinkler overspray. Hard-water spots from irrigation are the #1 reason Las Vegas homeowners re-book faster than the national average.
Season by season
Spring (Feb–April)
Best time for a full interior + exterior deep clean. Winter grime is washed off before the summer sun bakes it on.
Monsoon (July–Sept)
Don't clean during monsoon — book the wash for right after. An exterior refresh in September removes storm spray and mineral spots before they etch the glass.
Fall (Oct–Nov)
Great time for solar panel cleaning bundled with an exterior window wash — panels are heavily coated after monsoon, and clean panels catch more of the shorter winter sun.
Winter (Dec–Jan)
Interior refresh only. Cool temps and low sun angle expose smudges that hide most of the year — perfect timing for pre-holiday guests.
Signs you're overdue
- White chalky spotting on the outside of the pane (hard-water mineralization).
- A visible dust film that stays after a rinse.
- Fingerprints and dog-nose smudges that never seemed there before — that's sun angle, not new mess.
- Glass that looks dull even right after a wind event blows through.

Frequently asked questions
Can I just clean my own windows in Las Vegas?
You can, but Clark County's hard water almost guarantees streaks and mineral spots without deionized water. Most DIY cleaners get one story looking okay and give up on the second.
How often should exterior-only cleanings happen?
Every 3–4 months if you're near irrigation, a pool, or a busy road. Every 6 months for interior neighborhoods away from spray.
Is quarterly window cleaning worth it in Las Vegas?
For homes with pools, south-facing picture glass, or estates near Red Rock — yes. Everyone else does great on our 3-touch spring/fall/winter schedule.
